Remember when parenting books were full of exhortations to try "Tough Love" with your kids ? It meant putting constraints on behaviour, and letting the kids take the consequences of their mistakes without a parent stepping in to intervene. On Sunday, we're going to be talking about a different kind of tough love -- love that is tough for us to really commit to -- loving others even if they're not like you, even if they believe differently, even if they vote for a different party than you do .... and then to take the biggest step, loving your enemies. Wow. Now that is tough. And that is true love.
